I joined my manager Billy for a pleasant tour of the new College of Management building at Tech Square. Billy is an alumnus of the school’s Management of Technology MBA program so I’ve been trying to draw upon his experience and insight in making my own decision for the next step after graduation. I worry about graduation a lot now.
Guest speaker Bob Weber led IT group through a series of team-building exercises before warming up to his engaging 12 X’s of Leadership presentation. Mr. Weber has apparently spoken at over 950 corporations. It’s quite striking to observe a professional speaker present. Most executives possess the necessary oratory ability to be a great speaker, but most executives I have seen cannot also engage and hold their audience the way a true professional can. This contrast became apparent as the conference went on.
My second Atlanta Braves game was decidedly more engaging than the first, despite the constant lure of free food. I noticed a lot of cute chicks at Turner Field. Not that I talked to any of them, but still.
