We counted beads and flipped coins in 4000 recitation as a lesson in statistical sampling. Even so, it felt a little juvenile. Titus and I ate at Rocky Mountain Pizza for a change after having Dino’s yesterday.
I spent much of the evening working with C++ and struggling with virtual functions and polymorphism. I’ve created an abstract base class and I want to be able to access derived classes using virtual methods declared in the base class and defined in the derived classes. Suffice it to say that the actual implementation has caused me no end of headaches.
I took care of my dues and invitations for Eta Kappa Nu. The initiation banquet will be next Thursday and I’ll have to complete one service project before the end of the term.
I met Titus at Lil’ Dino’s after classes for a good cheesesteak sandwich. I alternated between programming and reading in the evening.
Ah! We knocked out another anime series with the completion of “I My Me! Strawberry Eggs”. It’s a cute comedy about a young man who cross-dresses to find work at a school dominated by female minds. The series becomes most engaging when a love quadrangle forms mid-way through. It’s worth a watch for fans of the comedy-romance genre.
I started on the next C++ program for 3090. It will be an extension of the previous calculator assignment to add matrix support. The catch is that we have to take measures to make the matrix storage memory efficient. The optimizations will add a little complexity to the row and column management.
I need to make up my mind for what I’m going to do this summer. I got an offer to go on a trip to China a while back but I’ve been having a hard time deciding what I’ll do. The deadline is almost here, too.
I’ve been in the process of revamping the links page for a couple days now. Links are now better organized within each category and each link now has a text description. All this thanks to nested definition lists.
The W3C referrer under the sidebar now properly works for each page again. I had broken it at some point.
Most links?except for the menu?now have new background colors for enhanced recognition. I removed the orange link hover color as well. I’m not sure if I like it better or not, but it was inspired by the utility of the W3C site.
As a change of pace, I ran some errands I was putting off because of school work. I found a replacement gas cap at AutoZone and picked up some other needed supplies for my car. I get the impression that store went bilingual at some point. I stopped by Wal-Mart and Publix on the way home to get groceries and such.
