Work was dominated by web and database work. I’m working on building a new database for my department to keep track of our loaner equipment, which is rotated between various other departments based on demand. The old database was such a mess that I decided to start from scratch. My other project is to modify the ASP-driven search page from one of the other plants to meet the needs of one of our departments on site. I don’t know ASP but I’ve been able to pick up enough from the template code to do most of the stuff they want me to do. Aside from some issues getting my direct deposit set up, it was a pretty smooth week at work.

I carpooled with my Dad on Wednesday when we took my car to Dave’s Auto Repair to get the fuel-injection system flushed and cleaned. My car is a normally-aspirated 1987 Toyota Supra that is rated for about 200 bhp, which is pretty good for a car that is over 15 years old. Unfortunately, the car has never felt that powerful and we were hoping this might help. The mechanic told us that he did find a problem with low voltage on the throttle positioning sensor (TPS), which he thought might be causing the lack of power. Unfortunately, he estimated that this part would cost around $400. I don’t know if we’re going to do anything about it.

I finished the “Kiddy Grade” series early in the week. It was a good action, sci-fi anime with a lot of plot twists and a dash of light comedy here and there. Those looking for romance will be sorely disappointed though.

No, I haven’t seen The Matrix: Reloaded yet but I will see it at some point. Typically, I don’t want to fight the opening-night crowds to see a movie as soon as it comes out.
